Now I know what a zimmer splint is - pictured. Tomorrow Nick has his operation to sew together his ruptured quadraceps tendon. He will have to wear this splint with its velcro straps for 6 weeks. At least he can remove it for showering and it's not as cumbersome as the old plaster cast. I will be glad when he has this little op behind him.
