Friday, January 30th

It was the third day of 43 degree temperatures. It's getting to all of us. Photos show my messy desk at school and the very popular air conditioner which lives in my little corner of the staffroom. It has various silly old Xmas figurines arranged on top.

Thurs, Jan 29th

My first day off for the year. Spent morning in hospital for procedure to disintergrate a kidney stone - lithotripsy. Piece of cake! At least so far, no probs, no reaction to GA, minimal discomfort.
Other photo shows very singed garden with wet sheet over rhododendron plant in a sad effort to minimise damage - we're still in heatwave, succession of 42degrees days, no rain.

Wednesday January 28th - First Day Back At School

It was a 41 degree day and we had to sit through a PowerPoint presentation in this huge barn of a place. Pics show my school basket and Sue and I posing in front of my desk for the Twitter365 project.

January 27th

Had to buy a new fan today - the old one broke and we havin a heat wave!

This is my screen saver at the moment - taken from a photo of an installation by Rosalie Gascoigne called All that Jazz (1989)

January 26th

Michael cleaning the gutters of leaves - so they won't ignite in case of burning embers in the wind during a bushfire - a very real danger at the moment.

Of course all the leaves got thrown down on the paving below - so guess who had to sweep them all up?

Better late than never - Day 1 January 25th

I'm joining the photo a day fad - 2 photos actually. I've been persuaded it's fun and intriguing so, 25 days late, here are my first 2 photos. The Edtech 365/2009 project requires any photo but the Twitter 365 specifies some involvement of the photographer's person - although it could be just a big toe.
Penelope and Isaac have been laying the brick floor to their little yurt studio they are building at the bottom end of our property

The silly pic of me shows me posing with a kitchen brochure - because we have finally decided to renovate our 31 year old kitchen - so I'm excited but also a bit nervous about all the possible headaches etc
