I'm trying hard to establish a Literature Circle approach to our 2nd term novel in my yr7 class. We are reading Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Patterson and this is only the second session - but so far it's been a bit of a struggle. My students are feeling a little challenged by not only the concepts of the different roles they are given each week but just reading the assigned chapters. I suspect a lot of children these days are not regular readers of novels. I've been having to resort to reading TO them - which they enjoy. Pic today shows one of the groups in action.
